Why the correct acronym is HSOTD and not HOTD.
HSOTD- High School of the Dead
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_school
As you can see, Wikipedia obviously states the correct usage to be “High school”. In fact, if you Ctrl+F that entire article, the only occurrence of “Highschool” is under the Mexico section. Stupid Mexicans and Japanese. No wonder Bleach is full of spanish.
Also because HOTD already stands for Helm of the Dominator.
This badass piece of headgear gives +10 damage, +5 armor and 15% lifesteal. It might be fucking useful for taking out zombies, but it sure ain’t no anime.
In hindsight, we probably should have named Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin,
Occult Acadimy

I’m watching it for the tits
Thanks for enlightening us. Real “useful”
Yeah, don’t mix your weeaboo shit with my DotA.
Zobies = undead.
Undead = not living.
not living = no life.
no life = lifesteal has nothing to steal.
Lifesteal = useless against zombies.
Damn you’re right, they should make Dirge and his zombies immune to lifesteal. That would be a pretty awesome update.
I lolled. Also, House of the Dead was around before either.
Wikipedia knows everything.
That’s nice and all but why does aethon get like every editing job now?
He replies when I ask “Any editors on?”
┐( ̄ー ̄)┌
You’re still signed up for Campanella and Legend of Legendary Heroes.
Love the DOTA reference now I might actually watch this show… MAYBE
CG zombies.
that is all.
You know….that actually makes sense. Still…”with karaoke and everything”? Are you guys feeling well?
┐( ̄ー ̄)┌
BTW, shouldn’t episode 1 of Occult Academy be titled “Maya’s Prophecy”? Yours says “prophesy”. Are both correct?
Yeah. Apparently. http://www.google.com/search?hl=&q=prophesy&sourceid=navclient-ff&rlz=1B5GGGL_enUS304US304&ie=UTF-8
They are different words though. Prophecy (pronounced “prof-a-see”),the noun, means a prediction. Whereas the verb, to prophesy (pronounced “prof-a-sigh”), means to predict something.
“When a prophet prophesies (s)he utters prophecies”
15% Lifesteal!?
Why the correct acronym is HOTD and not HSOTD:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highschool_of_the_Dead
The official acronym is HOTD and the official name is Highschool of the dead. Maybe it is a mistake on the part of the author, but that is the name that both the manga author and madhouse use.
It would be nice if you use it also for consistency.
Yes and maybe we should call “Drrr” Durarararararararararararararararararararararara because that was the official title.
In fact, you should call it “DRRR!!”. Again, it’s a chosen acronym by the author.
again, its not about what sounds better. The name is highschool of the dead. Its been called that since the first chapter of the manga came out. Trying to change it now is wasted effort since most people resist it. Also, isn’t drrr already called ‘durarara!’?
on another note, I hope you don’t drop this show. i would hate watching horrible/sentai subs and I would never touch trollguys with a 10ft pole.
does it really matter if its hsotd or hotd, i dont play dota so i wont make the mistake, so maybe its just me.
also it may be fine for it to be called highschool over there but the title is english, and i prefer my english with spacing and spell check (thishereisn’tthiseasiestthingtoreadformeyousee)… but thats just me and my policy,
if im wrong and in need of respect for the author and his works then what about his respect towards the proper use of the english language? ~rant rant~
Damn it, Commie, IT EVEN IS IN THE OPENING!
http://picload.org/image/dgowga/h.o.t.d.jpg
Proper name of the product trumps commie-logic. Period.
Also, they use a small gap between High and School in the Title, it just doesn’t make it into the acronym.
Author wrote it. Author named it.
If you can’t get over it, get yourselves into the emo-corner and drop the show.
No you.
Kudos for maturity.
if you cant get over the way this group does it dont bother with them…
why do they have to drop the show cause your unsatisfied with there belief that hotd is taken already by “helm of the dominator” and “house of the dead”
if the author can go about making up his own english, why cant these gods, err, guys go about making up there own english off his example.
gonna watch from you guys from now on after the dota reference
Success.
HOTD–> house of the dead
HSOTD–> A Hell scene of Tits Dancing…
Episode 1 was nearly a shot-for-shot copy of the manga, which is a good thing ^^ That means I should finally get my Saeko fix next week =]“
BTW, the biggest badass of this series is the chubby kid NOT the main character XD
Gawd I love this series.
HSOTD ftw!
I watch this for the plot :p
Wikipedia = shitload of typos and fallacies. Why not use common sense? Like High School is not same as Highschool when acronymizing. Also, the Mexican comment is ignorant, by your side if you were referring to this one: * http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_school * which isn’t even the ‘mexico section’ but rather the spanish section. Offensive racial joke there, you fail dude. Thanks for the episode anyway.
you know its petty to derive insult out of nothing -_-.
Hey, I don’t like your comment about Mexico, this anime is Japanese NOT Mexican.
By the way, I’m Mexican and I like your version, thanks for the episode. Only I did not like your comment, that’s all.
I’m not racist, I laugh at everyone equally.
It’s not an acronym. It’s an initialization. They’re both not pronounceable words. HOTD = House of the Dead.
Unfortunately, I think most of the USA use acronym to mean either. Still, it makes the ‘stupid Mexicans’ comment all the more laughable. =D
HSotD (case sensitive) !
It’s HSotD, if your going to try and sound sound smart do it right.
Rhe, u stupid texan nigger. <3
bitch please.
I can’t seriously be the only one who realized it was a REFERENCE to House of the Dead right? Right? Since the entire show is littered with references to other zombie media like Resident Evil and 28 Days Later I thought it was pretty obvious.
