Retarded question, but how would I be able to move your typesetting from Jojo SC episode 8 for Ebony Devil’s stats, to another Aegisub subtitle file?

Whenever I open it in Aegisub all the text gets replaced with “m 193.6 453.6 etc.”

I’m pretty shitty at subbing, so I was wondering if you guys would be able to help.

That sounds like an interesting bug.

    • Mithrandir says:

That’s not a bug. It’s because the stats- Destructive Power, Growth Potential, etc. were actually typeset that way: in the form of drawings possibly exported from AI, as opposed to text. So the m 193.6 453.6… that you see are actually the stats(and not some gibberish) and I’d say they were meant to be like that.

oh, i see what you mean. probably wants to translate to some other language.

        • YoshiChao says:

Nah I’m not trying to change the language or anything, literally just moving them from your sub file to another sub file, same language (I just liked your typesetting and wanted to put it ontop of Some-Stuffs release).

Would it be because they are drawings or whatever exported that you said, that that’s why they’re not appearing as normal text?

Should I just give up on this since it’s probably too complex for a newbie like me to work around? (I can transfer the larger stats typesetting easy, presumably because they were typesetted the manual way, where as this one is probably a shrunk version I’d assume)

open the video in aegis and check

            • YoshiChao says:

When I play it with a the same video it originated form it just appears as like, shadow/blur marks over where they would normally be text.

They still move as they should though, the text is just not text but instead looks like a big smudge mark over the screen.

That’s probably because you forgot to import the style he used for it and your default style is adding a border making it look that way. Just import the style he used into your file and everything should be fine.
