Odd, this time the OP karaoke kills my CPU, but it looks just like the OP karaoke of the last episodes, and those didn’t slow down at all. What changed?
let me guess the reason why the op karaoke lag because you make the op translation the same like the karaoke(i try to find the difference in your op kara and trans and find the only difference is the op trans for episode 1-3 didn’t have any effect like the karaoke)
anyway the ending chapter is wrong too XD

By fixing your codecs and using proper ones while watching in a proper player (see: playback).
On my MPC:HC with K-Lite codec pack everything plays ok, but I can guess why you might either not see OP subs at all or see them flashing. Just look how the original OP looks like (and how the original fonts behave), you’ll know what Commies wanted to do :3
The flashing is because the subs are too cpu intensive for mplayer internal subtitle renderer. Lower the resolution in the subtitles options of mplayer or use vsfilter with prebuffer and it will look alright… Not a pretty solution anyway.

I’d actually blame it on your OS. Running in Server 2003 R2, it lagged and all. Same computer later, when I had Ubuntu 11.04 booted up, played it the subtitles flawlessly.
Honestly I have to agree with all the bitching above. These kara effects are just a little too much for softsubs. I mean my 2600k @5ghz was at 100% and still would not even show the damn subs. I mean shit MPlayer, MPC-HC all just shat bricks. Please don’t do this next episode.

They added a karaoke effect to the translated lines too (they were static in episodes 1-3)

The OP isn’t lagging, the subs just don’t display. If I pause and then play I see them for a few seconds before they disappear…

Also the OP subs were better as they were before, playable with upscaled resolution directly from mplayer internal subtitle renderer.
The epilectic inducing movement with variable alpha matchs pretty well the OP, but the processing price to pay for it is too much.

Like what I said in my previous comment, my computer plays everything fine but I just don’t like the effects for the karaoke.

The PRACTICAL solution would be to remove the karaoke. Unfortunately, the only practical people are outnumbered.
The only thing that can play smoothly the new OP subs is a IBN 5100.
