At Commie, while we don’t give a shit about what other people are subbing, we do somewhat care about the shit that’s not getting properly subbed.
Re: Horizon’s script being sub-par
We actually didn’t use TAN’s script in its entirety, as most people were led to believe. When the show aired on Saturday, we had no idea how good it would be when it streamed 3 days later. Thus, our script was frankensteined together with multiple translators’ translations, the editor’s best guesses, and when TAN’s stream came out, their translations for the parts that made no sense after the ridiculous amount of time the editor spent over three days on the script. In the end, the script might have ended up worse in translation accuracy than the official stream, but all in all it did flow. Beginning next week we will use wholly the official script, now that we know the simulcast has a decent translation.
TL;DR
Apologies for the few mistranslated lines. You should blame it on how the script was put together, not the editing. This was a new editor’s first script, so he should at least get a cookie (to go along with his English degree).
Oh, and it’ll be fixed in the batch. lol batch

“I am Bear”
You can just use his Jpn ver or Atlus ver name.
“I am Kuma” or “I am Teddy”
I think we’re going with Teddie in the future. He hasn’t had a proper introduction yet, and Kuma is the generic word for bear, so the characters just heard him describing himself as a bear.
This. I don’t remember the line exactly, but he didn’t actually introduce himself as “Teddie” yet. He just told the characters that “[he’s] a bear” because they were wondering what the hell he is. We’ll be using the official terminology supported by Atlus when he does make his formal debut.
Also… THPOILERTHS: His name is Teddie?!

Chihayafuru looks ugly, probably because of ugly transmision from the TV station. HorribleSub’s video looks better this time, but CR non TLC’d translation is no go.

It looks quite decent, but not as good as Commie’s releases usually do.
There’s some ringing hell in the ending (and bad Hi10p decoding results in a rain of blocks, not ringing).
Also as it looks somewhat blurry, and a little blocky here and there, when I get back to my PC I will make some screenshots.
This time, and that’s quite rare, HS/CR version looks somewhat cleaner and sharper, so maybe the broadcasted ts wasn’t good.
Well, there’s a limit to what mpeg2 can provide.

Good job with Persona 4, I like how you guys stuck with the English dub things, like King Moron, the Junes theme, and Teddie’s bear jokes.
One thing that felt a bit weird though, Nanako. I’m not sure how she spoke in the Japanese version of the game, but in the English dub, she called her Dad, well, Dad, not Daddy, and seemed a bit more mature than the lines you translated for her. Like “I have to use the potty” or whatever it was. Just saying, she seemed a bit more mature than that in the dub game.
Great work otherwise though!
Those were TAN’s choices. But you’re right about her being much more mature in the game. Maybe I’ll change that stuff up, then.

Q: I’m using MPC, and everything in the video looked great, except for 16:54-16:58. The part right after they fall into the television, where it zooms through the black and white rectangles like in the game. Instead of that, I see mostly white.
