Dear technically challenged, a mere remux won’t do the trick – video needs to be reencoded with all the added quality loss and waste of time and electricity.
Anyone else got problems with subs on Media Player Classic ? Can’t see the subs at all tried checking other releases and only C3 and Fate/Zero had em. Any advices ? I updated my codec pack last week and it worked fine earlier. Tried reinstalling but didn’t do anything at all :\
No problem with MPC here, I tweaked for a couple of times and works perfectly fine when I watched P4A ep 1. The wonders of being a tech expert, really. /troll

Hell, even VLC Nightly Build plays 10-bit great.
If you think that people watch video only on a PC then you are idiot.
You can watch it on a TV/HTPC perfectly fine…
There are no TVs that support 10bit.
Try to view 10bit on the real HTPC (not based on hot desktops CPU) like Atom or AMD E350 based.

LOL. Do you know about the RAW video? Subs is just typical ass formated file that can be extracted from container.

Even if i reencode video, quality loss will be less than 5% and you wouldn’t saw any difference on viewing.
Use CCCN?
Sadly vlc can only play 4:2:0 10bit but it can neither play 4:2:2 nor 4:4:4 10 bit.

I had that problem for a while, Google came to the rescue.
Two solutions:
Make DirectVobSub a preferred filter:
MPC Options -> External Filter -> click “Add Filter…” -> select “DirectVobSub (auto-loading version)” and click OK -> choose “Prefer”
Enable the internal subtitle filter:
MPC Options -> Playback -> enable “Auto-load subtitles”
Can’t remember which one I did but it worked.

That’s currently the best 10bit playback option.
