And yeah, Aldnoah drive ass-pull convinced me all the Orbital Knights required genetic marker of the Vers Royalty to be surgically implanted in order to control their Kataprakt.

I was with you on requiring something like surgery for the Aldnoah Drive stuff when it came to allowing people to control Kataphrakt. Now I have no idea…
I’d like to say I have an idea on how it works, but there are holes in that idea left right and centre…
I think it’s boil down to these options to how these Olympus Knights have the right to control Aldnoah Drive:
1) Hardcore sci-fi option: They surgically implanted the activation factor to these worthy nobles to help the Empire to run itself business
2) Normal & simple audience: Bodily fluids transfer via a non-invasive medium i.e. ring. I believe there was image of a Noble receiving his/her activation factor by kissing a ring on the Emperor’s hand during the Knighthood ceremony.
3) Kinky ero option: In case of Nao and Slaine, they received it via direct contact. Nao inadvertently received his while trying to save the Princess and later he was lying in her pool of blood, thus enable him to activate back the Deucalion. Slaine might have received it when he was crash-landed 6-7 years old but he might have it properly bestowed by Princess Lemrina (probably a illegitimate offspring of the late 2nd Emperor which most common Martians didn’t know except the Nobles).
That’s probably why Urobutcher left the production as they feel the story will fall apart if he’d REALLY kill all 3 characters and there is no 2nd season.
