Cool Kickstarters for cool people

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1358146405/romanesque-translation-project

This is a Kickstarter for a translation project by Aroduc, who me and DxS have worked with before (and are on this.) Please donate if you feel like this is something you want to support.

now there are many ads in Commie, I wonder why?

    • herkz says:

People complain about this but not when RHE literally asks for people to buy him games?

Spoilers: I will be getting little or no money from this and I’ve been doing the same thing for years now for free. I just want to see if Kickstarters can actually succeed here.

    Lovin the art, donated.

  3. Sammy says:

    That art…. hmmm

  4. Ryusajin says:

Thanks for the heads up. Always wanted a translation of that game, love Oyari Ashito’s art style. Threw $50 at it, hope it succeeds.

  5. Nebulous says:

Why not bundle the game alongside?

Also the translation on the image he chose doesn’t sound right.

“Elves live naked until they’re about two hundred years old”

I don’t think “live naked” sounds natural. Furthermore “two hundred” is best written as 200, I think. I apologize if I am wrong.

Personally I am all for KickStarting this sort of thing, as long as it is legit/no copyright issues. Paying for an illegal good feels bad.

    • brainchild says:

Because bundling the game is more illegal than putting out a patch? And it’s probably a pain in the ass to seed. I don’t pretend to know anything about the VN scene or industry, but that’s my reasoning.

      • Nebulous says:

I meant that a number of people wouldn’t know where to go to buy the game or don’t want to give details to a random site they found on google.

    • herkz says:

Bundling it with the game is much more illegal.

And numbers over 10 are usually written out.

      • airco says:

No, it’s numbers under ten that are usually written out, unless you want to see one-hundred-and-ninety-seven-million-three-hundred-sixty-four-thousand-five-hundred-and-fifty-five written out.

Not that there’s anything wrong with writing it out when it’s nice and clean like two hundred.

I want to support Aroduc, but not herkz. Can I add a clause to my contribution so the latter can’t get any of it?

  7. IceD says:

Wow. I’m amazed. I played this visual novel and kinda stopped in hopes it will get a nice TL in the future. In terms of art/story/everything it’s propably one of the most gorgous and cute vn’s out there. I’m really glad you decided to take on it and I wish you the best of luck; I’m really happy now.

I wanted to get back to finish it, but now I’ll definately wait.

  8. babby says:
