I think I honestly preferred seeing the lyrics before, when they were logical. These just make the grammar Nazi in me want to start a linguistic holocaust.
Speaking as a grammarian, the official lyrics leave the flames of my righteous fury completely unfanned. Our original lyrics had some entertainingly ungrammatical English gaffes (the line “the words we wove is” managed in a mere six morphemes to encompass an error of subject-verb agreement and of tense agreement), but how am I supposed to become incensed at “write the mean destroy baby rat stay up and no fear” or “estrad and me under graven me on the starnet”? It’s just nonsense, and no matter what that everlasting arse Dodgson may want us to believe, nonsense is inherently uninteresting.
Maybe they’re just too deep for you.
