is it just me or all of the shows you are doing that are licensed by crunchyroll are just re-encoded CR raws too??? and that you won’t even need to retime them because you are jst re-encoding them to 10bit???
No, none of them are so far. We’ll switch to using CR as a video source for any shows where it turns out that they provide better video quality than using TV raws.
We completely redo the timing for all our shows as CR’s timing sucks.
yes, it is cr’s 1080p with filtering because filtering is necessary to fix the terrible cross conversion and other faults. the other screenshot is commie’s upscaled to 1080p. commie’s looks significantly worse. i fail to see how the comparison is bullshit.
&torchlight] well
&torchlight] calling them completely made-up is stretching things a bit
&torchlight] not really a legit comparison since they should both be 720p rather than upscaled to 1080p
Just the pacing of the 1st episode a bit frantic. The scene where the aircraft/Surface Fighter crashed and killed the pilot in the training ground doesn’t connect with the main story. Who did died and what the significant impact to the main character(s)? It might have for those who had played/read the manga but not to the newcomer of the franchise.
Better they start with some brief history of BETA/human conflict and throw the girls into the fight but spend the rest of the episode on Yui’s flashback of her training and such.
But, it’s just me.
I mean the scene before the BETA invasion on Japan. I think it was a plane that crash landed on the training ground during snow fall and soon after that of one cadet quit. Sure, the death might affect other minor characters but main question is who did die.
Oh, well. Let’s hope it’s some random event that reminds them it’s not all fun and games when training to be a Tactical Surface Fighter pilot. Death looms on the horizon once they official allow to go into the battlefield.
Hi, I was wondering why you didn’t leave as Eishi, and translated in to pilot, in the Muv luv universe a TSF pilot is called eishi, it’s kinda a elite pilot, so just calling pilot takes all meaning.
Most likely because Because “Eishi” has an official English term, which is “Surface Pilot”. Since Surface Pilot is a bit of a mouthful, simply using Pilot reduces the amount of repetition, makes the script easier to read, and is a perfectly appropriate term.
Your question is like asking why they didn’t leave “TSF” as “Senjutsuki”.
If you played the games you would understand, instead of always saying Tactical surface pilot, eishi is more simple, and everyone who is familiar with universe prefers them, just saying why not use an already established term of the series.
>instead of always saying Tactical surface pilot, eishi is more simple,
Probably why we went with pilots.
>and everyone who is familiar with universe prefers them,
No, I think eishi is retarded.
>just saying why not use an already established term of the series.
There aren’t any. Well, there are some official translations of terms, but the fan translation of Muv-luv is shit and we’re going to ignore it as much as we please.
u have foursome once a week? cool
*foursome* …. *faint*
Thanks! What happened with the old one? I downloaded it already, but I’ll download this one just to make sure I get the correct copy.
There were a multitude of errors.
So, there’ll be a patch, or no?
No.
Always fast. Always awesome. Thanks as usual! ^^

Even if we were doing that, CR’s timing is dogshit and would require fixing.

i would use CR for jinrui. just tell your encoder to spend some time fixing the cross conversion
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/133353/
Apparently that comparison is BS.
<&Xythar> it’s CR with blah blah filtering vs upscaled HDTV
<&Xythar> in other words two completely made up screenshots

then just resize both screens to 720p. 1080p upscaled comparisons are more legit anyway, as that’s how people should be watching shows.
I’ll be using a filtered encode (of the TV broadcast, not CR) from next week on, but not for the reasons you described.
tvk doesn’t have a logo.
I sure as hell don’t.
3 copies released? It’d be cool if you version releases (v2, v3 etc)… (makes things far less confusing)
Where’s the fun in that?
3? There were like 6 on irc before we were like “fuck it, let’s let someone actually go through the whole thing before we release another version”
Are you guys gonna sub Tanken Driland?
>expecting grim real robot anime
>got high school girls goes kyaa kyaa instead
what is this I don’t even-
It’s more like Sky Girls but compressed first 6 episodes into 1, minus the swimming suit like monoslit replace with skintight flesh-coloured plugsuit.
Yui’s backstory and establishing some of the world’s setting.
Don’t worry. You’ll get all your Despair and more, Alternative style, in episode 2.

If you’re talking about when the laser class shot down the two TSF, there’s no meaning other than to show how screwed everybody is.

it just a minor and ‘insignificant’ nameless pilot trainee that died
( ¬‿¬)
Nah, before that when the guy was like “if you can’t even handle this, you may as well go home”
>Muv Luv
>alternative
You must be new.
think you replied to the wrong person.
Did you watch the trailers?
smells like a little show named: GUNBUSTER.
Several homages to Gunbuster in the VNs in the form of soundtracks and some of the mecha design.
Also, best anime ever. I don’t need to see the rest of this season to know that :3
Hyouka is still on right? You guys are probably just busy with the new season… I don’t know how much of the teams overlap.
TL was out drinking or something yesterday and was sick earlier, he TLed the episode a few hours ago. Editor went to sleep a bit before TL started.
You can see where this is going.
Yep. I’ll edit it tonight after work and it’ll probably get typeset and timed at some point along the way.
Next week should be back on schedule.
>Next week should be back on schedule.
ALLLLLLLLL ABOARD!
NEXT STOP: MARIA HOLIC ALIVE
You’re forgetting the season conclusion of Space Pirates!
ETA next year
Saw episodes 1 and 2 at Anime Expo, 2nd one was especially fun…

Why the fuck would we not translate an easily translatable word?
I WANT MY WEEABOO WORDS.
I’m calling Ixrec >:(

Ok thanks for the info, keep up the good work then.
TL note: Eishi means pilot.
too much work lol
>TL note: Eishi means pilot.
l33t p1l0t, you mean.
tl note ur gay
even if you’re an elite pilot, a pilot would still be a pilot. I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t be translated.
