People still use VLC still? lol… I thought that player was trash?
Thanks for the episode tho!!
apparently, since space dandy does not work on VLC and some people were complaining
It doesn’t work properly on MPC either for some people. Like that guy that complained on episode 2.
Even on Aegisub it’s slow on the opening.
it should play fine with xy-vsfilter
but you’re right, mpc’s internal renderer probably breaks hard too
I’m still using an old version of Zoomplayer from back when it used to be coupled with CCCP. It has never failed to play anything for me.
actually, it would be pretty easy to break. i’m sure it slows down a lot on complicated typesetting.
OP breaks MPC’s subtitle renderer but not to the point where it slows down the entire video like VLC.
I was just watching the opening on MPC with Task Manager open beside. With subtitles on, it topped 37% CPU usage on opening, with a average 25%. With subtitles off, the max usage was 18% and average 12%. So the subtitles are taking 50% of the processing on this task.
I really think you should consider trying to make the opening subtitles more efficient, just like VLC team should do with their subtitle renderer :)
we have no reason to cater to people who refuse to use better software and cripple what we can do with typesetting
xy-vsfilter does indeed solve the problem. But, until any mention of it is made in the FAQ or playback, people are gonna keep whining about it in the comments.
>Windows: http://www.cccp-project.net/
I have no idea what you mean.
The way to make them more “efficient” would be to make them look worse, either by using a solid colour for the text or with more noticeable “steps” in the gradient.
Or people could just use a sub renderer like xy-vsfilter that renders gradients efficiently enough that we don’t have to compromise on quality.
{/gradient} in mainline when?
>/
u wot
Only if you haven’t updated your CCCP in a while would that happen.
It’s actually a LOT better now. Obviously, it may not view everything in the utmost bestest ever quality but it’s still pretty good and easy to use.
duplex, please
Yeah I do have to agree that even in VLC the beginning and ending songs video freeze up (this is the first time I’ve ever seen VLC have a problem). Though I thought it was just me missing a codec or using an outdated VLC Player (I’m not).
Regard less, Awesome Work and Thank You!
@TheUberAsian What’s better than VLC?
>@TheUberAsian What’s better than VLC?
what isn’t
Depends on your uses for it. VLC is perfect for what I want to use it for.
not watching anime? because VLC is not “perfect” for watching anime.
>What’s better than VLC?
CCCP or mpv if you’re not on Windows.
Ah, MPC? You don’t use it? There’s this great guide that gets you perfect playback, the guide is on MAL…
Vlc 2.1.0 is way cool.
What about mpc with madVR?
as long as you use xy-vsfilter, everything should work
I don’t use it and I never had any problems with your stuff
Really? Because ISR is way slower and has some very strange bugs, especially if you fullscreen. Oh, and the colors would be wrong for any of our recent releases.
Well I never installed it so I presume I don’t have it. I checked the external filters and I don’t any filter like set up. About the colors, I don’t really have a way to find if the colors are correct or not.
Just check like the episode titles of Samurai Flamenco. If the colors are wrong, it’s really obvious how the original is masked and typeset over.
I’m not following that show, isn’t there any other to check?
Jam a fork up your pee-hole. If it hurts, you’re not using xy-vsfilter.
But what kind of fork Nigga senpai?
le kawaii codec pack
I concur. I switched over from CCCP to KCP after I have a few anime files that didn’t play properly.
KCP and CCCP are nearly identical, so I don’t know how that could happen.
since we’re here discussing players, what works on android?
MX Player is the best, but it’s not that good yet. So nothing.
There are no good sub renderers for mobile devices yet so just grab your hardsubbed re-encode of choice and watch it on whatever.
hm. Thanks.
>actually talking about the show
zombie elmo, people. CANT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT
Right. Let’s leave this alternative dimension move to the next one.
All this talk about what’s good on windows to view your releases but what about the Macintosh?
I’m left either with Mplayer x or vlc.
mpv
OP is broken with mpv too.
guess non-windows users are really fucked then
Mission accomplished?
Try –ass-shaper=simple or a different video output driver.
Should’ve thought about that before you bought a Mac.
You should be fine with the latest version of MPlayerX. It can handle all the Dandys and Flamencos properly. I would rate MPlayer OS X Extended slightly better though.
