I recently upgraded to the new CCCP and now red is completely messed up. Every other color is smooth and fine, but red is pixelated. The problem isn’t only in MPC, in every other player I’ve tried it still looks the same.
Has anyone else encountered problems with just a certain color and know how to solve it? I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling, updating graphics card, replacing filters, etc. I’ve used MPC for years and this is the first issue I’ve had. Help would be much appreciated!
Sorry that was just an example. In EVERY single file, the red is distorted. If it were one file I would think it was an encode/animation issue, but it’s not.
My guess is your MPC-HC was previously set up using a video renderer that smoothed over the chroma and the CCCP update reset that. You could always use some kind of video filter to postprocess it away or something.
Well, you could try to play it in VLC (which surely doesn’t use the codecs of CCCP) and see if the problem is still there. If they are, it has nothing to do with CCCP.

Well, if other players don’t use the same filters as MPC, then it is probably not CCCP causing it. Maybe the show is just terribly animated.

Isn’t that normal? It usually looks the same to me, but I figured that was a nautral result of chroma subsampling.

I’ve seen it on live recordings and such, but for animation it has always been clear until I upgraded. I never thought this was normal until now o_o
