What happened to the other people working on Mahoyo’s translation?
The dude that did the demo’s translation was bad/wrong and would need to be completely TLCed/redone. All the people from Amaterasu were busy and didn’t/couldn’t work on it at all.

well, I think that the reasons are pretty simple – laziness and lack of editors.
translator was busy with irl stuff for a bit, but now he’s back

What actually is editing? Do they have to graphically adapt each sentence to adapt it into the screen adequately?
no, more like the translator is not a native english speaker so the sentences need heavily changed or outright rewritten

well, he’s not a native speaker either and his japanese is considerably worse since our translator is japanese

My biggest problem with him was that he completely ignored the fan accepted and established terms of the Nasuverse for what he thought sounded better. Also added lengthy prose for no reason.
Am going to assume they won’t be doing this, so regardless they will be better. (You guys will be using the accepted terms right?)

Thanks for the replys, but for about 2 months the Progress was 20.56%, did something happend that slowed you down or did you simply didn’t update the Progress’s percentage?
(It’s not that I critisize you for the lack of progress feedback, but this project is something lots of us are very enthusiastic about).

Translator here on some other TM stuff (F/Z, F/HA, etc). re: coke’s translation…
The terms are weird and they may upset some people but that doesn’t really matter as long as they are consistent.
The real problem is that he literally rewrote large sections of the novel based on his interpretation of it and adding in comments of his own that have nothing to do with the original text. This is not translation.

Well, they’re doing (slowly) Melty Blood Actress Again for PC right now.
lol, no. They are still alive, just busy IRL. Pretty much explains why they can’t translate Mahoyo and Fate/Ataraxia. Though they are currently translating Melty Blood: Current Code, which is not tedious as a VN.

Seriously, yes. The(lol) F/HA translation has been going off and on for years now and only even moves on very rare occasions. I’m sure they could use an experienced translator who has free time and wants something to do SOMEWHERE.
