the characters are terrible on purpose. that’s literally the point. takumi is shitty because he’s a child and is acting out. kind of like how real tweens act. they like to resist authority.
You missed my point, the problem is not that he’s acting like a kid, it’s how it’s conveyed to us, he looks more like a retard than a rebel, even his mom and grandfather can’t say a single useful sentence, and they’re supposed to be the grown up figures.
