All of the names bar Hina seemed to be shortenings of each Shinki’s model type. Arnval’s kana reads as Ahnvahru (アーンヴァール), so when the MC shortens it to An (アン), he probably means Arn. Altines is pronounced Arutoainesu (アルトアイネス), hence her being shortened to Aines (had I actually known how the model was pronounced beforehand, I may very well have gone with Ines, but that just begs to be pronounced “ee-ness”. And Lene is an Altlene model, so that didn’t take any thought.
The real answer, of course, is that I paid very little attention to the OP.
Yeah, but even if is how you say, if they give an official romanization, I think you must use that.. in the opening sequence we clearly see “ANN”, than, in my opinion that is her name… and for final, even if, like you say “japanese don’t know how to romanize” the name “Arnval” for that shinki model was created by japanese, than for make a nick from that name by shorten it they don’t have to know how to romanize it, they have only to watch what they’ve wrote, than, remove some letters… the game is set…

For all you know they just gave アン to some random member of the production staff and said “hey, include this in the intro animation in some cool-looking way”.
It’s always the translator’s discretion to romanise the names as whatever makes the most sense.
