  5. Conan_Edogawa says:

      >Watching JC Staff’s ‘adaptions’ instead of reading the novels

      I bet you love~ Toradora.

      • Break says:

an elitistfag who calls himself “otaku gaijin”… ohhhh yeah. gah.

      • read the novels says:

Toradora was surprising well adapted even though they went at impressive speeds of volume per episode at first and simplified or cut out quite a bit. Also when they don’t, you fags howl that it’s boring and has too much talking, see Horizon which had only 1 volume (albeit twopart?) adapted for the whole season.

      • erejnion says:

        >not watching the anime adaptation purely for nostalgia value

        >liking Toradora

what accusations are you making, are you high or something?

        • Break says:

ah dotn bother so much, seems like one of these perosns that wanna feel superior by bashing adaptions;he/she probably didnt even watch any.

  20. Alteration says:

CR edit or original TL? (CR’s TL was supposedly good, according to 8th)

  21. Arisato-kun says:

Man I hate Fileserve… DL speed always caps out at 450kb/s, while Megaupload tends to give me 800kb/s+ Any reason for only using Fileserve guys?

  22. Kanoto says:

uwaa. I had almost given up on this due to the crunchy roll simulcast pushing other subbers off. サンキョウ!

  23. Hayate says:

    Technically:

    Nisemono – Impostor
    Monogatari – Story

    Therefore: Impostory

  24. anon says:

    >150 mb

    >2012

Just letting you know that the encode looks like shit.

  25. Delleponte says:

Ops! Sorry, it IS 720p… So small!

      >DO THIS

      >!

Honestly I’m not sure we want to receive compliments about grammar from someone like you.

    • Progeusz says:

Just rip top-tier CR script and take some time to make it even better…?
Great episode. I can’t believe how much I missed these characters.

  29. GX-9901 says:

    commie = bro tier

  30. Rangi says:

“encode looks like shit”? What are you talking about? It looks fine, especially for a 150MB file. No need to double the file size for the sake of whatever pixel-sized details you’re missing.

  31. Anun says:

Umm.. is it just me or it doesnt have subtitles?
what am i doing wrong? [Mpc hc +cccp]

  32. macxxx007 says:

    Thanks a lot… HAVE A GOOD NIGHT!

  33. IZEROII says:

looked pretty good maybe through a few more bits at the picture next time but honestly looked fine. Excellent job in the typesetting given how quickly it was released. Much thanks.

  34. IIHeroComplexII says:

Very good work with the typesetting. Thanks for the speedy release.

  35. Zannafar says:

    Thanks for releasing this.

Imo “Sophistory” sounds a lot better than “Impostory”.
My favourite would have been “Forgestory” though.

  36. Break says:

now i dont really see the need to make an elaborate translation of the name, even though its a wordplay.. with the other volumes, by the time they get animated its only gonna get harder.. i mean how are fansubbers supposed to make an elaborate translation of kizumonogatari for example?
“damaged goodstory” would maybe still kinda flow because “goods” ends with the “s” to start story with, butsounds weird eh? and other ways to translate it… im pretty sure any right translation for kizumono would make the title too long and so kinda obese for a wordplaytitle…

    • Zannafar says:

I guess maybe it’s simply because of tradition. The first season title was translated as a wordplay, so all subsequent seasons will have a wordplay title as well.

In case of Kizumonogatari, you could go with the meaning “unvirtuous girl” for kizumono, cross out girl and use chaste as a synonym for virtuous and go with “Unchastory” (though “Unvirtuoustory” would already work).
Anyway, some possibility for wordplay will be found.

    • Csiko says:

      Seconding Damaged Goodstory.

    • oBb says:

      rejects + story = rejectstory?

  37. ryanagamis says:

    shopistory is good
    impostory is good
but my favorite will be travestory

  38. Chortos-2 says:

I’m probably just being silly, but what’s the 偽物/nisemono translation beginning with sophi-? Also, isn’t ‘imposter’ wrong because of the kanji? 偽者 = person, 偽物 = thing, right?

    • Chortos-2 says:

That obviously should’ve been ‘impostor’, but whatever.

    • KKRais says:

      偽物語.

      偽者 = a pretender/impostor.
      物語 = a narrative.

(do you see how they combined the kanji for pretender/impostor and narrative to get the name of the show? keep that in mind)

      Let’s break it down. “Pretender/Impostor + Narrative (Story) = Impostor + Story = Impostory”

      Get it now?

      • Chortos-2 says:

I certainly see where Impostory comes from, but:

        偽物語.

        偽物 = a counterfeit article.
        物語 = a narrative.

Doesn’t it make much more sense to assume that to get 偽物語, they combined 偽物 and 物語 rather than 偽者 and 物語?

    No Ending EP?

  41. mya says:

Script bears pretty much semblance to horrible subs. Seems like next to nothing but reformatting and dehonorification was own work.
Dissapointing. Now I wonder how far the scepticism aborn is groundful.

    • johnny_dickpants says:

If the script is good to start with it doesn’t need much from us.

    • KKRais says:

The script was exceptionally well-done in the first place. Unlike some groups, we’re smart enough to be able to realize when not to mess with things.

Also, if you can’t see the stuff that’s all our work, like the signs, then that’s your loss. Rest assured, nobody cares if you watch Horrible instead.

But you won’t be getting any walls of text from them.

      • mya says:

Yeah-yeah, and I totally disregarded the encoding part and karaoke (which probably had one line mislayered).

It all has to do with what image I had before realizing the actual way of things. Noone asks to care about my opinion. (But script felt, like, too lifeless to me. That’s why I was interested in potentially–read, “expectedly”–different take and was tempted to check your release as well.)

        • KKRais says:

In this case, a “different take” on the dialogue would just result in being wrong. It’s pointless.

Crunchyroll really DID do that excellent a job. There’s a reason no groups except for us are even trying.

I don’t know what you mean by it being lifeless; the script flowed very well and captured most of the bite of the original dialogue. It beat the hell out of the work put out by any of the fansub groups that covered Bakemonogatari.

          • mya says:

(Such praise, and yet you do remove line breaks from numerous lines 50+ characters long…) Reluctancy to try and go into details is due to expectant coming up short. Myself not being a fully-fledged translator, groupie or something. Hence the choice of words. It’s too early to listen to my lectures.
