The 1080p version from horrible subs looks significantly better than 720p releases. Maybe it’s time to start thinking about using 1080p (in the near future ?).
1) I doubt it.
2) Whether the 1080p video from simulcasts looks better than the 720p video depends on a lot of factors (excluding Funi, whose 1080p video looks considerably better always for some reason). Usually though it’s only worth downloading if the show was animated at some resolution higher than 720p.
3) Daisuki’s video (what HS rips for this show) is actually the worst of the 3 video sources for OPM. TV Tokyo looks better, and what we use (the German simulcast) looks even better than that. In fact, Daisuki’s video for this show is quite bad. See here: http://diff.pics/GF6YeqePs47Y/1
Just one thing though, for the BD batch: do you maybe think that the official translation fucked up “Groribas” instead of (the fan-translated from the manga, but much more sensible) Gloryverse? The alien midboss wannabe towards the end.
