The script specifies font “Surface” for the main dialogue. However, no such font is attached. Attachment 2 contains a font named “Surface-Medium” and attachment 3 “Surface-MediumItalique”. Both have same font family name “Surface”. Libass picks the font named “Surface-MediumItalique” which is probably not what the typesetter meant, but as far as I can see this is a problem with the script, not libass.
Why not mux the OTF fonts with the application/x-truetype-font mime-type as opposed to the more “correct” application/vnd.ms-opentype? It is supported just about everywhere and aside from the mime type being a hack, it’s an universally supported hack. Not supporting it is just forcing people to update, even if the reason itself isn’t good enough.
I suppose I’ll go update my Haali’s splitter to the new beta version to play your new releases. The other alternative would be to install the fonts for each release, but fuck that.
Or you could use a different version of mkvmerge/mmg that has the old defaults.
As for my updating to the newest Haali – seems to be working fine, except when one seeks a lot and tries turning subs on/off while seeking, it sometimes deadlocks when I do that and I have to kill MPC-HC. Maybe I should just give up on Haali’s splitter and use LAV.
so this is tv air, right?
Don’t ask stupid questions.
There are no stupid questions, just silly answers.
The question is stupid because you can easily find out the answer yourself.
Does it have a v(whatever) on it? Dumbass
Thanks for making my point for me.

Thanks for the episode… and yeah… I have no problem with you guys just doing the TV version… Thanks again and please have a great night!
Thanks for the release, but…
something’s wrong with the TS or did you guys change the font purposefully?

The fonts are specified in the styles as Aegisub writes them. We don’t support or test on libass.
No, it’s a “problem” with how non-Windows systems handle font families.
In any case, we do not test or support libass or anything non-Windows, so you just have to deal with it.

Because that requires actual effort.

Why would we do that? The newest version of LAV is now superior to Haali so…
