    I AMASCIENTIST ISSO COOR!

  2. commie purin says:

    Yeah, with that I’m satisfied…
    HELL NO

  3. mond says:

    [67F6321F]-version is superior!

How can you fuck up encoding that much?

  4. Niku says:

Very pretty, and you even outdid yourself on the typesetting.

  5. amp says:

I want to see the [67F6321F] encode can somebody upload it?
That’s 281,474,976,710,656 trillion colors is it really a deep color encode that’s fucking w0w.

  6. Zaton says:

    Is this ep 16 ?

  7. Jiggling Jiggles says:

    Holy sh*t; this looks great.

  8. nINJAkECIL says:

I envy all the people having a 10-bit display T_T.

    I’ll try these when I get a 10-bit display.

    • Homerun-chan says:

Whether you have a 10-bit capable display or not is irrelevant.

Just in case you haven’t read this yet: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/439899/

      • nINJAkECIL says:

I’m sure it does. 10bit encode meaning it has more color information (10.7 billion color, while 8-bit has 16.7 million). My display only capable of displaying 8-bit color, and so does my GPU.

For me right now, the only advantage only smaller filesize.

Are you sure you don’t have placebo effect?

Can we get a head-to-head comparison between 8-bit and 10-bit encode?

        • RHExcelion says:

Just because your panel is 8bit and not 10bit doesn’t mean you won’t see a quality improvement.

        • BK_201 says:

You’re correct in a sense. You won’t have access to the 10.7 billion colors if you had an nvidia quadro 1800+/AMD fire card paired with a 10-bit ips panel. However, the “10 bit” will “upscale” 8 bit to mimic a true 10 bit while using less space. We won’t have TRUE 10 bit for a while. Only very few of us have the hardware to play with. I’ve done comparisons with my 10 bit setup and this is not a true 10 bit color encode.

  9. Hi10p says:

Is Commie going to continue naming the releases [10bit] instead of [Hi10P]?

    • RHExcelion says:

Yes, because we’re communist and don’t give a shit about naming standards. We’ll remove the tag once all of our releases are in 10bit, of course.

    • Shawn263241 says:

Where the hell did “Hi10P” even come from? The “Hi” part seems unnecessary, and “10P” doesn’t make sense. Just saying “10bit” easily gets the job done.

      • RHExcelion says:

It’s the official profile name. Yeah, I think it sounds dumb too.

      • (ノ `Д´)ノ ~┻━┻ says:

        Hi[gh]10[bits per sample]P[rofile].

And yes, it sounds ultra gay.

      • (ノ `Д´)ノ ~┻━┻ says:

        Hi[gh]10[bits per sample]P[rofile].

And yes, it sounds ultra gay.

  10. Stonegazer says:

I believe she was actually supposed to say ‘nyoro~n’ in the 4th panel. This is ‘Nyoron Churistina’ isn’t it?

  11. ExplodingLemons says:

Wow…. mind=blown. I didnt think it would make that much of a difference…. It definitely did

  12. Matteas says:

The image quality is brilliant. If only my CPU put up a better fight.

  13. newfriend says:

    FWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  14. hurr says:

I don’t give a shit about this, yeah, it looks great, BUT EP16 FUCKING WHEN

  15. newfriend says:

    CPU Benchmark Test status: Passed

  16. jojo says:

    Epic shit.

  17. Garma says:

I saw the HorribleSubs (or whoever did that reencode) Hi10P for ep16. It looked amazing – well, with the exception that the original video looked like total shit. But other than that, it looked really nice.

  18. Yamirokuai says:

I know this will be ignored but please if you will release 10bit and 8bit versions at least make the 8bit version Bluray compatible (i.e. 720p 9 ref frames at most)
    thanks for reading

  19. nx6 says:

Quit jumping on the Hi10P bandwagon. Nobody’s gonna start doing their regular releases in it until the mainstream players support it in stable version, so who cares right now?

Release ep 16 and save us from the Crunchyroll eyecancer.

    • Tai says:

      >> released only ED and OP in 10bit

      > OMG YOU JUMPED THE 10BIT TRAIN IT’S TOO SOON

  20. Kirby_422 says:

Start encoding all anime with 10bit now. If you start releasing everything in it, it will require more people to put :effort: into making more programs read it, making it become a standard sooner. Plus, I can watch the 10bit videos, and I like them (because, my opinion totally matters out of the thosands of others who watch your shows)

    • basement dad says:

You selfish bastard, think of the other guys that cannot watch it. In my case, I had to clone mplayer2 from their git repo and compile that shit so it doesn’t interfere with my system (changing install paths and shit), and compile smplayer (don’t like mplayer without gui).

      • Tai says:

You can always watch 8bit coalgirls with placebo filesize and quality close to that of 10bit

  21. qaz says:

    Kirby_422, seconded.

If you can’t play Hi10P you are not qualified to watch anime.

  22. Undefined says:

Wait, how can I play this?
    I’m using mplayer2 with the smplayer front-end, but it’s not working…
    I’m using Fedora 15 btw.

    • nINJAkECIL says:

I don’t know about linux, but currently the only codec capable of playing 10bit oncoding properly is CCCP latest BETA. I guess it doesn’t matter which player you use tho.

    • basement dad says:

I’m using F15 too, but I didn’t know there is a mplayer2 package in F15. Do you know how to use git? I cloned mplayer2 from their git repository
(http://git.mplayer2.org/mplayer2-build/) and compiled it. With this version, 10bit works for me.

  23. Annonymous says:

Now try something like the fights in GL or Star Driver.

  24. Plop says:

So… how ’bout them 8bit comparisons?

  25. Jukey says:

Hey guys, there’s a new mplayer2 binary for Mac OS X available here http://code.google.com/p/mplayerosx-builds/downloads/list that supports 10bit
