  2. bcbenn says:

    Kure-nai: great

    This OAD: not at all

It’s infuriating to me when well-developed characters are turned inside-out and upside down (and all the women suddenly get giant breasts, too)

Just so you guys know, sometimes it’s hard to tell what it is you are putting up for a download. It would help if you put the name of the file somewhere in the post. Just a suggestion.
    Good job with the subbing.

Yeah I totally hate it when the characters match their manga counterparts and not the bullshit characterization that was changed in the original anime series.

Get a clue before you spout off nonsense.

I’m sorry but what the fuck are you talking about?

fdfdsfdsfds is being sarcastic. bcbenn doesn’t like the OAD because the characters differ from the Kure-nai anime. fdfdsfdsfds is alluding to the fact that the characters of the OAD are based off of the Kure-nai manga. Kure-nai is originally a series of light novels and the manga adaptation came before the anime adaptation. The manga follows the story line of the light novels more closely and is also drawn by the same guy who illustrates the light novels.

So rather than it being the OAD that messes up the characters of the anime, as bcbenn asserts, it is really the anime that messes up the characters from the manga, which are more ‘canon’ as the manga and not the anime follows the original light novels more closely.

bcbenn’s beef with the OAD is in the characterization and the character art. The characterization of the Kure-nai characters in this OAD is more canon as it follows the original light novels more closely. The character art in the OAD is based off of the manga and since it is the same art used in the light novel illustrations, the character art is more canon in the OAD compared to the anime.

But in defense of bcbenn, just because these facts are not mentioned does not necessarily imply ignorance. All bcbenn states is his opinion and in terms of opinion, canon is not necessarily better. If bcbenn prefers the anime characterization and art to the more canon version, that is his preference.

On a side note, I personally prefer the manga and OAD to the anime adaptation.

From a storytelling perspective, it’s a lot more important, in my personal opinion, to portray how much and why Ginko treasures her computer so, than to emphasize the specific reasons why the computer suddenly stops and then starts working again. The incident is merely a vehicle to drive to the story, and I am pleased to see that the screenwriter and the director did not lose sight of it when putting together the second part of the OAD.
