At 12:50 and once a bit later there’s talk of a “snab”, that’s probably mean to be a “snub”, as in a snub-barrel, ie a very short barrel, typically on a revolver, common for police detective issue.
For the first one, the anime re-ordered the lines compared to the manga, which is why it’s confusing. That line is actually supposed to come a few lines later after the one about the brainwashing devices and refers to them. I can make it a bit more ambiguous, I guess.
