Also, have you guys considered “translating” the countries names to the ones used originally in the manga instead of using the ones made up for the anime only? Like MAG Union referring to the United States, Volgarena referring to the Russia, Ghorantl referring to Israel and Mesamia referring to Syria. This is a change that was only made for GITS2026 and, as much as I understand the point of doing so, it may make the anime even more hard to understand for people who are not paying extra attention. Thanks again for all the work!
not really. i think it ages better if they don’t say the actual country since the views of each country can change over time.
also, amazon actually does mostly translate that stuff, but only in the subtitle track made for the dub. i guess since the subs can’t really handle showing more than one thing at a time.
I kinda disagree with the point of view, since the story is not talking about “the present” itself as a current-time political commentary – the original gits was made decades ago, so it’s like saying movies with political commentary shouldn’t be made since the views of the country being the target of commentary could change over time
still, that’s just my two cents on the matter over a minmax suggestion, you guys are doing a great job already, thanks for the reply!

I saw the dubtracks but on some episodes they just summarize instead.
