I do like this series but seriously I’d say a recap is only needed for a 50+ episode show. Having two for a season length show is absolutely ridiculous so I can’t blame you all for refusing to sub it. Thanks for the wunderbar job so far. ;)
recap episodes are *almost* never done voluntarily by the production committee. More often than not they are clear red flags of air dates outpacing production. MoeTanks has a lot of CG layouts and animation– some of it impressive. CG likely commands higher salaries over there like it does here in the NA animation industry, add it all together with an average anime budget and you get 3 month delays and 2 recap episodes.
TL;DR: Moetanks gratuitous use of CG animation/layout is expensive, so production was outpaced by airdates. recap episodes are cheap ways for studios to dodge the bullet and just make it in time to keep on schedule.
We’ve already done one recap episode. Since this show has little in the way of intellectually complex content, we didn’t feel the need to do another. Especially because I’m the typesetter and I can’t really be fucked typesetting 100+ signs like the last recap.

Since you deal with the public: openly disregarding the content you deal with seems amateurish and disrespectful. I am very grateful you guys do an amazing job. However, this does not look good to potential applicants/donators.
My point, by the way, is that none of the people working on Girls und Panzer get paid for what they do, and are therefore not “professionals”. Making what you consider “professional” or “unprofessional” quite meaningless.

I just find it very discouraging that someone would take their opinion and throw it at the people who appreciate what they’re doing. If you want to turn me away, that’s fine. You’ve done more than let me give my 2 cents and I respect that.
Maybe you should just take a chill pill and not get so worked up over an animated series. Your world cannot be so small that you get mad from a comment about a show with a paper-thin plot.
