  2. Feldwebel says:

    v1 Girls und Panzer
    v2 Girls and Tank

    ? ,)

  3. Not Orcus says:

    Clearly v1 is superior

  4. Havoc10K says:

    English subs please, not german.

    • Xythar says:

I suspect there’s only one language that’d make you happy and it’s neither of those.

    • Jukey says:

Well, if you consider subs that have stuff like honorifics and “onii-chan” to be in English, then one could say that both scripts are in English. It just so happens that one of them contains more German than the other.

  5. dc1293 says:

    I ma loving za v1

  6. Kay says:

Have both muxed in for future releases, unless you’re lazy then just keep it with less German cause there are people that still don’t understand simple moon-phrases.

Oh and also, DDL for v2 script?

    • Panzer says:

Actually muxing both into one would be fabulous, since I did have to rely on google translate a bit watching v1, but still want the lulzy subs.

  7. Panzer says:

    MORE GERMAN

  8. Daniel says:

    MORE GERMAN, OBVIOUSLY, lmao

  9. jspie says:

Still can’t get over gg envy, heh? Well, if you’d go full troll, like duwang, maybe more people would notice you.

  10. Yamato says:

I like the german in the panzer fights but when they are just talking in the cafeteria.. kind of annyoing. Watched first half of v1 but will switch to v2

  11. LC1984 says:

More german, really nice and thanks for your work.

  12. not worth it says:

    v1 ftw

  13. Xauber says:

    German subs are the best!
v1 is my favorite and i hope you do the same thing on the next episode.

Btw in v1 @ 8:06 she said “Im a little Schlampe”…did she really said “im a little slut”?^^

  14. Kanoto says:

vhat iz diz zhet? zhe kaizer vhud bi veri pruaud.

still probably better than that anime about soft drinks becoming girls though.

  15. Monkey D. Fluffy says:

    Mädchen und Panzer!

  16. M1neRunn3r says:

    I guess I’ll prefer v1 because I’m german xD

  17. 七四三 says:

    It was an eventful accident!
If you can release with both version would be wunderbar!! Bitte!

  18. 七四三 says:

    It was an eventful accident!
If you can release with both version would be wunderbar!! Bitte!

  19. Yuyu says:

Mädchen und Panzer with your v1 onegai.

  20. Rudo says:

v2 plox cause im a dirty 1 languaged merrikan

  21. aqe says:

My preference would be to have no German at all. I just found it distracting, especially given that GuP’s not even set in Germany. Of course that won’t happen, but having it as an optional second subtitle track in the releases would be nice.

  22. Kammerj4ger says:

    Hahahaha!!
Put in some randome Germand words are a funny idea. but guys, let me say this, i am german and some of that words dosnt make any sens (for example, no one actually use therms like “fräulein”)… Plz only use German when you have to name the Tanks (like Panzer IV or Tiger). But still, that Idea was damn Funny!!!

  23. LC1984 says:

Schlampe wouldn’t be the right choice, in german it is often used as an insult. But it’s difficult to name other choices, as I do not know the original content/intent. “Schlampe” definitly feels awkward.
And another translation I didn’t like was in the gym, when you used the word “Stille!”, probably the translation for “silence”, but in german the word used would be “Ruhe!”.

    • hotty says:

At first “Schlampe” meant an unkempt, lazy woman and changed to “slut”. Nowadays “Schlampe” is nearly as insulting as “bitch”. If you are looking for slut in a dictionary, you will find the old meaning “Schlampe”. Hence the pretty bad and awkward translation.

If Commie continues with using german words, they should get some germans (austria or swiss) and let them qc the translations. We are on the internet and there are enough germans, who can help.

      • johnny_dickpants says:

You mean like the German who translated the entire episode?

        • LC1984 says:

Hmm maybe a better word instead of “Schlampe” could be “Flittchen”, but…, ah who cares, the german translation would still sound awkward.
And please ask your german translator, why he used “Stille” instead of “Ruhe”. I cannot even remember such a situation, where a german speaker would use the word “Stille” in that way. That would interest me, not that it is that important, as most non(-native) german speakers won’t notice the difference.

          • johnny_dickpants says:

He did that so the English speakers could still get an idea of what the words meant.

  24. Rohin says:

    German, English or Japanese?
    Ok go for Russian.

v1 was awesome, expected a horrible mix and got something funny :).

  25. Sprejnik says:

    more German, bitte!

  26. Kintama says:

Ist wunderbur, Ja – I was rolling on the floor laughing.
But later on you use too much German that doesn’t even resemble English (ist unverstanden) so next time just use well known German words please.

  27. Mort says:

No German in the subs. It’s pointless and distracting. If the show took place in Germany, it might be a nice touch, but serves no purpose as the show is.

  28. NAZI says:

    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!
    HEIL HITLER!

More Aryan’s subs and praise Hitler, faggot

  29. M1neRunn3r says:

I just saw this and to be honest the german mixed with english sucks. It’s disturbing me and like others said before it does not take place in Germany and there were words that didn’t even match. You should sub that completely in english! At first I thought it could be funny but it just sucks.

  30. Ex says:

so, which german grammatical word requires you to capitalize every german word you use in an english sentence?

but seriously fuck off with this shit.

  31. Werner von BRAUN says:

    Mädchen und Panzer!

V1 of course… well, V2s are also nice – nevermind that

    v1 – Jawohl!

  32. K says:

Well I’m from Germany..Great Job. It sounds so funny…

  33. Commie in charge of not being gg says:

I guess I’ll have to wait for a sub group that doesn’t add more gratuitous German than what the series already has.

  34. DemonSpade says:

v1 is definitely better! Either keep it like that or mux in two subtitle tracks.

  35. Mister WTF says:

No German ofcourse. Wtf are you doing?

  36. fuji says:

It’s been alot of trolling around lately, hasn’t it? (not just commie though)

  37. Heibi says:

Less German. Can be used for a few things, but lots of it make the subs hard to read. Unless you know German of course.

  38. Solaristics says:

Wtf? Commie translating again. Miracles happen ERRYDAY. Btw will you be switching to CR subs, or keep on subbing yourself?

    • johnny_dickpants says:

fnord wanted to do this show if it wasn’t CRed, then it got CRed and he gave up until he found out it’s a latecast. So, he’ll probably keep going.

  39. tibsi says:

Also mir kann das ziemlich egal sein ^^

  40. roBernd says:

Liked the German touch, it would be kinda medicore without the Sauerkrautified sentences to watch this show. Seriously, “Ja, Wunderbar, Panzer”, and “über~” are pretty much universal nowadays. Stick with it and I’ll keep watching :P

  41. D-MAN says:

should stick to english, the setting its not even in germany.

Oarai High School, names of characters are Miho Nishizumi, driver Mako, gunner Hana, radio operator Saori and loader Yukari. The only thing that sounds german here are the tank… unless the the tank talks too hehehe

  42. Nikos says:

How about a v3 with no german at all?

  43. alpha says:

Hmm, I’ve watched the release (v1) to see why there are so many discussions going on. For the record, I’m a native German speaker.

I would prefer you guys to just use phrases like “Entschuldigung” “Ja klar” “Verstanden” etc. It’s easier to use them and to understand them. You don’t have to google all the time. Another point is mixing in words into the English translation. As an example “The pleasure is all ours” which actually translates into “Die Ehre ist ganz unsererseits.”, but you went for a literal translation which led to the mistake using “unser”. It always looks kinda strange when you try to force in so many words and it looks even stranger when you could easily do the whole sentence in German. “Episode Zwei” could be “Folge Zwei” etc.

I hope you adjust a little bit and I would like to help, if need be.

    P.s.: Potato ice cream, WTF?!

    • alpha says:

I forgot the most important thing… It’s “Panzer fahren” as in tank driving, go by tank etc.

      • roBernd says:

learn your own language… du Neubiene. “Panzerfahren” as a noun is quite ok.

Das Panzerfahren stimmt schon. Ich war Fahrrad fahren. Das Fahrradfahren ist schön. Ich hoffe du erkennst deinen Fehler.

  44. fuck you commie says:

How about “v3 – German only when spoken”

  45. CaeX says:

Both are fine and two versions should be done again since people want both versions, even me who can’t speak a lick of German. I know this was done on accident, but next time and forwards it would be cool to just have two subtitle tracks so the viewer could choose themselves without having to download another episode.

  46. Fuji says:

I vote for both, German v1 was pretty funny. Reguardless of knowing german.. You still know what there saying lol.

If you dont know what there saying.. Clearly you do not watch enough anime and should be watching more! :P

  47. HanoFist says:

I didn’t get the v1 – only the v2. I do like the idea of occasional German words mixed in but the v2 still had a few too many for smooth watching (for me): It slowed down my reading and I missed some of the visuals. A couple times I had to rely on anime-osmosis and listen to the Japanese audio to confirm my mental translation of the German onscreen.

My preference is the less German option (or dual sub tracks for Deutsch-o-philes if it’s not too much effort).

  48. Stanky says:

I don’t see a point in the german at all. Almost nothing is in german, and its less enjoyable when i have to keep googling. Why change/add things that arent even there?

  49. pie says:

    How is “Ja” German?
